I had so much fun doing this GPS ad, that I decided to make this project a “how to” case study. @ the prelim meeting, I drew these sketches just before we sat to discuss the project and I got the thumbs up to move forward after a quick discussion.

The next image is from Modo 401 where the modeling, lighting, texture mapping and posing were completed.

4 renders where created @ 3300 pixels x 5100 pixels each (tabloid print resolution) using global illumination, reflections, depth of field and alpha channels including: 2 texture map renders for background, one for the mic and it’s reflections, and an alpha.

the final photoshop file took several hours to design, layout and then type was added.

about 20 hours from begining to completion including prepress for magazine ad and short run 11″x17″ poster. cccp propaganda and art deco posters where a loose inspiration for this illustration.
